Features of Ball Hubs

As a very important part of the bicycle system, the wheel set, its weight, rigidity, drag coefficient and other factors have a great influence on the performance of the bicycle. The hub is the main component in the wheel set.
Usually speaking of the types of hubs, it is divided into bead blocking hubs (also called ball hubs) according to the mechanism of the internal rolling part. The characteristics are:

1. The ball directly contacts the ball bowl and the shaft gear, and the contact area is large;

2. There is no need for inner and outer support for balls like Bearing, so more balls can be accommodated;

3. Theoretically, the bead block hub can withstand greater pressure, and the lateral force is better;

4. It is easy to disassemble and maintain, but the adjustment of the rolling mechanism requires rich experience, and the actual operation is not convenient for ordinary riders;

5. The disadvantage is that the larger contact surface will increase the friction and affect the wetness.

6. The waterproof performance is weak, but the high-end bead-blocking hubs are also excellent in waterproofing
